The Warhorses (3-18) will now prepare for their challenge against Avery County (Newland, NC). The Vikings come into the 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge with a 13-6 record. In their last challenge, Avery County trounced Madison (Marshall, NC), 65-23, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Dragons encounter the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge, on Thursday, February 6. NCSSM: Morganton will attempt to improve on its 0-14 season record. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 43-29 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC).
