North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC), 79-14 in a league match.

With the victory, North Mecklenburg upgrades its record to 18-2 on the year. The Vikings host Chambers (Charlotte, NC) to face the Cougars in a 3A/4A Queen City match on Friday, February 7. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 6-14. Chambers won 44-39 in their recent non-league match against Palisades (Charlotte, NC)

The Hawks now sport a 3-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hopewell for a 3A/4A Queen City match on Wednesday, February 5. West Mecklenburg will face a Titans squad coming off a 59-23 league loss to Chambers (Charlotte, NC). The Titans record now stands at 3-15.
