The Solon Spartans basketball team scored 53 points and limited the visiting West Delaware Hawks to 52 in the Spartans league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now possess a 9-10 record. They play next when they host Independence for a non-league game on Friday, February 7. Solon will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 73-26 non-league loss to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 7-11.

With the loss, West Delaware falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA) to confront the Stormin' Pointers in a non-league game on Friday, February 7. The Stormin' Pointers go into the game with a record of 12-7. Center Point-Urbana lost 56-46 in their recent league game against Marion (Marion, IA)
