In Tuesday's league test, the Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) basketball squad defeated the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), by a score of 45-29.

Next, the Panthers clash with the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, February 5. Franklin will attempt to improve on its 14-1 season record. The Maroon Devils come into the test with a 4-4 record after their 34-27 non-league win over Cherokee (Cherokee, NC).

The Mustangs (4-11) will now prepare for their test against North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Knights come into the non-league test with a 2-9 record.
