North Carolina High School Basketball - Lake Lure Classical Academy overwhelmed by Asheville Trailblazers

The Asheville Trailblazers Trailblazers bounced the visiting Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors basketball squad by a final score of 47-17 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
Next, the Trailblazers clash with the Upstate HomeSchool Bearcats (Spartanburg, SC) in a non-league outing, on Monday, February 10. Asheville Trailblazers will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Bearcats come into the outing with a 5-3 record after their 41-37 non-league loss to Hampton Park Christian (Greenville, SC).
First Quarter
The Trailblazers hosted Lake Lure Tuesday night. The JV Boys came out and pushed the ball quick down the court and pressured Lake Lure with their tough man defense. The Trailblazers took an early lead 15-7 in the first. Led by Logan (5), Lafferty (4), Lewkowicz (3) and Marlow (2).
Second Quarter
The second quarter the Trailblazers held Lake Lure to 0 points. The Trailblazers locked in on their man to man forces a lot of turnovers and worked the defensive boards. The Trailblazers dropped 19 points in the 2nd led by Lafferty with a 9 points, Logan with 5 and Lewkowicz with 3. Patterson also added 2 points.
Third Quarter
Third quarter for the Trailblazers saw bench play for the team. Lafferty led the quarter with 6 points, Lewkowicz with 2, Mills (2) and Nelson added 2. A strong 3rd led Lafferty to a 20 point game and 12 rebounds.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth for the Trailblazers saw a release from the gas and a spread offense to work the running clock. Farmwald added 2 points on the quarter to close out the game 49-18. Head Coach D. Lewkowicz added that it was good to allow the bench to come in the whole 4th quarter and run our spread offense to go along with the running clock due to the lead.
