The Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team scored 41 points and limited the visiting Mountain Heritage Cougars to 39 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mountaineers now have a 6-0 record. They play next when they travel to Avery County for a non-league game on Tuesday, February 11. Mitchell will confront a Vikings team coming off a 31-23 non-league loss to Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Mountain Heritage falls to 5-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Madison (Marshall, NC) to confront the Patriots in a non-league game on Friday, February 7. The Patriots go into the game with a record of 2-8. Madison lost 58-45 in their recent non-league game against Avery County (Newland, NC)
