The Nixon Mustangs smashed the visiting Rio Grande City Rattlers soccer team by a tally of 7-1 in Tuesday's league game.

Next, the Mustangs face the Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region 4 District 30 game, on Friday, February 7. Nixon will attempt to advance on its 12-0 season record. The Toros enter the game with a 1-7 record after their 3-0 league loss to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX).

The Rattlers (2-2) will now prepare for their game against Roma (Roma, TX). The Gladiators enter the 5A Region 4 District 30 game with a 4-7 record. In their last game, Roma was overwhelmed by Palmview (La Joya, TX), 3-0, in a league test.
