Mt. Edgecumbe Braves (Sitka, AK) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Barrow Whalers (Utqiagvik, AK), 48-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mt. Edgecumbe upgrades its record to 3-11 on the season. The Braves host Ben Eielson (Eielson AFB, AK) to play the Ravens in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 9. The Ravens go into the bout with a record of 1-7. Ben Eielson lost 53-21 in their recent league challenge against Valdez (Valdez, AK)

Next up, the Whalers confront the Bethel Warriors (Bethel, AK) in a 3A Western challenge, on Tuesday, February 15. Barrow will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record.
