Palestine Wildcats (Palestine, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hudson Hornets (Lufkin, TX), 42-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Palestine upgrades its record to 31-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Jasper (Jasper, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, February 8. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 21-11. Jasper won 80-46 in their recent league bout against Rusk (Rusk, TX)

Next up, the Hornets play the Center Roughriders (Center, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 bout, on Tuesday, February 8. Hudson will attempt to upgrade on its 15-17 season record. The Roughriders come into the bout with a 6-16 record after their 48-36 league loss to Carthage (Carthage, TX).
