The Lynnfield Pioneers (Lynnfield, MA) basketball nipped the visiting Stoneham Spartans (Stoneham, MA), 49-48 in Sunday's non-league test.
The Pioneers (11-6) will now prepare for their test against Ipswich (Ipswich, MA). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 6-9 record. In their last test, Ipswich got by Hamilton-Wenham Regional (South Hamilton, MA), 62-48, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 3-13 record. They play next when they travel to Wakefield Memorial for a Middlesex test on Tuesday, February 7. Stoneham will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 59-42 league win over Melrose (Melrose, MA). The Warriors record now stands at 13-1.
