The St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL), 53-46 in Monday's non-league test.

The Sabers (18-8) will now prepare for their test against Paxton-Buckley-Loda (Paxton, IL). The Panthers go into the Illini Prairie test with a 5-19 record. In their last test, Paxton-Buckley-Loda was tipped by Olympia (Stanford, IL), 66-63, in a non-league test.

The Hornets now own a 11-16 record. They play next when they host Prairie Central for a non-league test on Friday, February 9. Eureka will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 75-59 league loss to Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 15-11.
