Texas High School Basketball - Zapata can't hold off Hidalgo

The Hidalgo Pirates basketball team scored 35 points and held the host Zapata Hawks to 33 in the Pirates league triumph on Monday.
The Pirates now sport a 15-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Raymondville for a 4A Region IV District 32 contest on Friday, February 9. Hidalgo will battle a Bearkats team coming off a 46-43 league loss to Grulla (Rio Grande City, TX). The Bearkats record now stands at 13-22.
The Hawks (6-18) will now prepare for their contest against La Feria (La Feria, TX). The Lions enter the 4A Region IV District 32 contest with a 20-8 record. In their last contest, La Feria was nudged by Port Isabel (Port Isabel, TX), 72-55, in a league contest.
