The Magoffin County Hornets basketball team (Salyersville, KY), was nudged 78-73 in Monday's league battle with the host Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY)
The Cardinals now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Knott County Central for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 6. Martin County will battle a Patriots team coming off a 72-56 non-league win over Wolfe County (Campton, KY). The Patriots record now stands at 18-4.
The Hornets (11-8) will now prepare for their battle against Blazer (Ashland, KY). The Tomcats come into the non-league battle with a 15-7 record. In their last battle, Blazer edged North Laurel (London, KY), 73-39, in a non-league battle.
