Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Petal Panthers (Petal, MS), 52-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northwest Rankin upgrades its record to 10-17 on the season. The Cougars travel to Meridian (Meridian, MS) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 18-9. Meridian won 48-44 in their recent non-league bout against West Jones (Laurel, MS)
