Gatewood Gators (Eatonton, GA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers (Augusta, GA), 50-15 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gatewood upgrades its record to 11-12 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Westminster Christian Academy (Watkinsville, GA) to play the Lions in a GIAA AA Region 2 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Westminster Christian Academy lost 67-41 in their recent league bout against Brentwood (Sandersville, GA)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers (Warrenton, GA) in a GIAA AA Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Augusta Prep Day will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a 18-3 record after their 74-67 non-league win over Piedmont Academy (Monticello, GA).
