Montgomery Cougars (Skillman, NJ) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bernards Mountaineers (Bernardsville, NJ), 47-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Montgomery upgrades its record to 9-11 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 9-11. North Hunterdon lost 55-33 in their recent league bout against Voorhees (Glen Gardner, NJ)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the The Pingry School Big Blue (Martinsville, NJ) in a Skyland - Raritan bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Bernards will attempt to upgrade on its 11-11 season record. The Big Blue come into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 55-51 non-league win over Madison (Madison, NJ).
