Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones (Elizabethton, TN) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Science Hill Hilltoppers (Johnson City, TN), 42-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elizabethton moves its record to 11-11 on the year.

With the defeat, Science Hill moves to 10-13 on the year. The Hilltoppers host Daniel Boone (Gray, TN) to meet the Trailblazers in a 4A District 1 match on Friday, February 9. The Trailblazers enter the match with a record of 13-7. Daniel Boone won 77-55 in their recent non-league match against Gate City (Gate City, VA)
