Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Northern Durham Knights (Durham, NC), 60-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Halifax County upgrades its record to 11-10 on the campaign. The Comets host Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA) to play the Warriors in a Piedmont bout on Thursday, February 8. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 19-3. Magna Vista won 48-28 in their recent league bout against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA)

Next up, the Knights play the Hillside Hornets (Durham, NC) in a 4A DAC bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Northern Durham will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 59-11 league win over Riverside-Durham (Durham, NC).
