The Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY) basketball crushed the visiting Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY), 51-27 in Monday's non-league test.
The Hornets (13-9) will now prepare for their test against Betsy Layne (Betsy Layne, KY). The Bobcats go into the non-league test with a 12-8 record. In their last test, Betsy Layne was trounced by Lawrence County (Louisa, KY), 54-48, in a league test.
The Cardinals now own a 16-9 record. They play next when they travel to Johnson Central for a District 57 test on Wednesday, February 7.
