The Giles Spartans basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Bland County Bears to 32 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

The Spartans now sport a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Galax for a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 7. Giles will battle a Maroon Tide team coming off a 51-14 non-league loss to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA). The Maroon Tide record now stands at 2-13.

The Bears (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Blue Devils enter the non-league contest with a 6-10 record. In their last contest, Grayson County ran past Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA), 36-31, in a non-league contest.
