The New Athens Yellow Jackets basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting Marissa/Coulterville Meteors to 54 in the Yellow Jackets league triumph on Wednesday.

The Yellow Jackets now have a 14-8 record. They play next when they travel to Dupo for a Cahokia - Kaskaskia game on Friday, February 7. New Athens will confront a Tigers team coming off a 64-22 non-league loss to Maryville Christian (Maryville, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 2-11.

With the loss, Marissa/Coulterville falls to 14-9 on the campaign. The Meteors host Lebanon (Lebanon, IL) to confront the Greyhounds in a Cahokia - Kaskaskia game on Friday, February 7. The Greyhounds go into the game with a record of 4-17. Lebanon lost 85-52 in their recent non-league game against Okawville (Okawville, IL)
