In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots basketball team scored a close 33-29 triumph over the Ascend Leadership Aviators.

In their next game, the Aviators confront the River Mill Jaguars (Graham, NC) in a 1A Central Tar Heel contest, on Friday, February 7. Ascend Leadership will attempt to better on its 2-17 season record. The Jaguars go into the contest with a 3-20 record after their 32-28 league loss to Southern Wake Academy (Holly Springs, NC).
