In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Live Oak Eagles basketball team scored a good 45-33 triumph over the St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers.
The Eagles (13-8) will now prepare for their contest against Denham Springs (Denham Springs, LA). The Yellowjackets go into the 5A District 5 contest with a 18-9 record. In their last contest, Denham Springs was topped by East Ascension (Gonzales, LA), 37-26, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Redstickers battle the Liberty Magnet Patriots (Baton Rouge, LA) in a 5A District 4 contest, on Friday, February 7. St. Joseph's Academy will attempt to better on its 8-12 season record. The Patriots go into the contest with a 14-14 record after their 40-38 league loss to Woodlawn-B.R. (Baton Rouge, LA).
