Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) fans went home pleased Wednesday as they observed their basketball team overwhelm the host Santa Fe Demons (Santa Fe, NM), 73-15 in a league challenge.

The Matadors (20-1) will now prepare for their challenge against La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM). The Bears come into the 5A District 2 challenge with a 14-5 record. In their last challenge, La Cueva trounced Manzano (Albuquerque, NM), 73-26, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Demons encounter the Capital Jaguars (Santa Fe, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Saturday, February 8. Santa Fe will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 7-14 record after their 63-56 league loss to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM).
