Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) fans went home pleased Wednesday as they observed their basketball team knock off the host New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC), 43-30 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings (17-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Screaming Eagle come into the non-league challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Ashley prevailed over North Brunswick (Leland, NC), 65-56, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Wildcats encounter the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) in a challenge, on Friday, February 7. New Hanover will attempt to improve on its 11-2 season record. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a 11-3 record after their 53-39 non-league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
