Seaside Spartans (Seaside, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Pacific Grove Breakers (Pacific Grove, CA), 49-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Seaside upgrades its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Spartans host Stevenson (Pebble Beach, CA) to play the Pirates in a PCAL - Mission bout on Wednesday, February 8. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 16-6. Stevenson won 44-24 in their recent league bout against North Monterey County (Castroville, CA)

Next up, the Breakers play the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs (Watsonville, CA) in a PCAL - Mission bout, on Wednesday, February 8. Pacific Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 7-14 record after their 86-47 league loss to Oakwood (Morgan Hill, CA).
