The L'Anse Purple Hornets basketball team (L'Anse, MI), was overwhelmed 55-34 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Ontonagon Gladiators (Ontonagon, MI)

The Gladiators now possess a 11-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wakefield for a Copper Mountain battle on Thursday, February 9. Ontonagon will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 37-29 league loss to Wright (Ironwood, MI). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-13.

The Purple Hornets (7-9) will now prepare for their battle against Dollar Bay (Dollar Bay, MI). The Bays come into the Copper Mountain battle with a 6-10 record. In their last battle, Dollar Bay trounced Chassell (Chassell, MI), 53-45, in a league battle.
