St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM), 38-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Pius X upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Sartans host Grants (Grants, NM) to play the Pirates in a 4A District 5 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 9-13. Grants lost 56-38 in their recent league bout against Valencia (Los Lunas, NM)

Next up, the Hilltoppers play the Espanola Valley Sundevils (Espanola, NM) in a 4A District 2 bout, on Friday, February 10. Los Alamos will attempt to upgrade on its 15-7 season record. The Sundevils go into the bout with a 10-13 record after their 49-48 league loss to Moriarty (Moriarty, NM).
