New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds (New Ulm, MN) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Springfield Tigers (Springfield, MN), 48-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, New Ulm Cathedral upgrades its record to 5-13 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Cedar Mountain (Morgan, MN) to play the Cougars in a A Section 2 bout on Thursday, February 9. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Cedar Mountain lost 81-61 in their recent league bout against Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN)

Next up, the Tigers play the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN) in a A Section 2 bout, on Thursday, February 9. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 54-32 league loss to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (Hector, MN).
