The Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) basketball felled the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 49-31 in Monday's non-league test.
The Trojans (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Westmoreland (Montross, VA). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 7-5 record.
