Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Leggett Pirates (Leggett, TX), 68-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Brookeland upgrades its record to 24-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats host High Island (High Island, TX) to play the Cardinals in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Friday, February 9. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 9-19. High Island lost 63-33 in their recent league bout against Zavalla (Zavalla, TX)

Next up, the Pirates play the Burkeville Mustangs (Burkeville, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout, on Friday, February 9. Leggett will attempt to upgrade on its 24-8 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 10-16 record after their 61-39 league win over Chester (Chester, TX).
