Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Golda Och Academy (West Orange, NJ), 47-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Newark Academy upgrades its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Minutemen travel to Weequahic (Newark, NJ) to play the Indians in a Super Essex - Freedom bout on Thursday, February 8. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 10-12. Weequahic lost 44-35 in their recent league bout against Eagle Academy (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the play the Bard Early College Raptors (Newark, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 12. Golda Och Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record.
