The Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) basketball felled the visiting Irvington Blue Knights (Irvington, NJ), 58-46 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Lions (13-7) will now prepare for their test against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NJ). The Bengals go into the Super Essex - Liberty test with a 9-14 record. In their last test, Bloomfield was beaten by Newark Tech (Newark, NJ), 74-52, in a league test.
The Blue Knights now own a 13-7 record. They play next when they host Columbia for a Super Essex - American test on Thursday, February 8. Irvington will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 54-47 non-league win over North Star Academy (Newark, NJ). The Cougars record now stands at 10-10.
