MacArthur Generals (Decatur, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), 64-56 in a league bout.

With the win, MacArthur upgrades its record to 22-3 on the season. The Generals travel to Lincoln (Lincoln, IL) to clash with the Railsplitters in a Central State Eight bout on Friday, February 9. The Railsplitters go into the bout with a record of 20-8. Lincoln lost 45-39 in their recent non-league bout against Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 8. Lanphier will attempt to upgrade on its 15-15 season record. The Purple Raiders go into the bout with a 0-23 record after their 68-39 non-league loss to Glenwood (Chatham, IL).
