Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), 63-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Monterey upgrades its record to 15-16 on the season. The Plainsmen host Coronado (Lubbock, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Region I District 4 bout on Friday, February 9. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 18-13. Coronado lost 49-42 in their recent league bout against Cooper (Abilene, TX)

Next up, the Westerners play the Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Lubbock will attempt to upgrade on its 6-25 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 18-14 record after their 77-55 league loss to Monterey (Lubbock, TX).
