Petersburg Buffaloes (Petersburg, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Southland Eagles (Southland, TX), 66-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Petersburg upgrades its record to 6-12 on the season. The Buffaloes travel to Lorenzo (Lorenzo, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a 1A Region I District 6 bout on Friday, February 9. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 17-9. Lorenzo won 76-71 in their recent league bout against O'Donnell (O'Donnell, TX)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Wilson Mustangs (Wilson, TX) in a 1A Region I District 6 bout, on Friday, February 9. Southland will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 10-14 record after their 70-22 league loss to Borden County (Gail, TX).
