Colleton County Cougars (Walterboro, SC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host May River Sharks (Bluffton, SC), 53-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Colleton County upgrades its record to 5-18 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Hilton Head Island (Hilton Head Island, SC) to play the Seahawks in a AAAA Region 7 bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Seahawks come into the bout with a record of 9-15. Hilton Head Island won 55-52 in their recent league bout against Lucy Beckham (Mt. Pleasant, SC)

Next up, the Sharks play the Bluffton Bobcats (Bluffton, SC) in a AAAA Region 7 bout, on Friday, February 9. May River will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 21-1 record after their 47-43 league win over James Island (Charleston, SC).
