Cook Hornets (Adel, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Jeff Davis Yellowjackets (Hazlehurst, GA), 40-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Cook upgrades its record to 10-13 on the season. The Hornets host Clinch County (Homerville, GA) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, February 9. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 14-4. Clinch County won 62-50 in their recent league bout against Turner County (Ashburn, GA)

Next up, the Yellowjackets clash with the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) in a AA Region 1 bout, on Friday, February 9. Jeff Davis will attempt to upgrade on its 3-20 season record. The Purple Hurricane go into the bout with a 12-11 record after their 77-62 league win over Worth County (Sylvester, GA).
