Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) and the visiting Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), saw Starmount's basketball squad knock off Elkin by a count of 45-35.

With the victory, Starmount upgrades its record to 5-15 on the campaign. The Rams host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to play the Trojans in a 1A Northwest challenge on Wednesday, February 7. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 1-18. Alleghany lost 60-27 in their recent league challenge against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC)

Next up, the Buckin' Elks play the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) in a 1A Northwest challenge, on Friday, February 9. Elkin will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 1-19 record after their 66-53 league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC).
