Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT), 56-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gilbert upgrades its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Thomaston (Thomaston, CT) to play the Bears in a Berkshire bout on Friday, February 9. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 15-3. Thomaston won 54-29 in their recent league bout against Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT)

Next up, the Spartans play the Wamogo Warriors (Litchfield, CT) in a Berkshire bout, on Friday, February 9. Shepaug Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 61-35 league loss to Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT).
