Putnam County War Eagles (Eatonton, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Glenn Hills Spartans (Augusta, GA), 55-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Putnam County upgrades its record to 17-7 on the season. The War Eagles host Josey (Augusta, GA) to play the Eagles in a AA Region 4 bout on Friday, February 9. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 21-2. Josey won 53-50 in their recent league bout against Thomson (Thomson, GA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Washington County Golden Hawks (Sandersville, GA) in a AA Region 4 bout, on Friday, February 9. Glenn Hills will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Golden Hawks go into the bout with a 14-10 record after their 58-39 league win over Laney (Augusta, GA).
