Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI), 54-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Westwood upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Manistique (Manistique, MI) to play the Emeralds in a non-league bout on Friday, February 9. The Emeralds come into the bout with a record of 7-6.

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Norway Knights (Norway, MI) in a Mid-Peninsula bout, on Thursday, February 8. Iron Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 50-32 non-league loss to Florence (Florence, WI).
