Springfield Tigers (Springfield, MN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds (New Ulm, MN), 59-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Springfield upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Tigers travel to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (Winthrop, MN) to play the Thunderbirds in a A Section 2 bout on Thursday, February 8. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 9-13. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop lost 68-40 in their recent league bout against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (Hector, MN)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Cedar Mountain Cougars (Morgan, MN) in a A Section 2 bout, on Friday, February 9. New Ulm Cathedral will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 11-14 record after their 72-34 league loss to Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN).
