Spectators at Tuesday's non-league test between the Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) and the visiting West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), witnessed Powell County's basketball squad nip West Carter by a margin of 41-34.

The Pirates (12-13) will now prepare for their test against Knott County Central (Hindman, KY). The Patriots go into the non-league test with a 14-9 record.

The Comets now own a 4-19 record. They play next when they host Rowan County for a non-league test on Friday, February 9. West Carter will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 47-45 league loss to Fleming County (Flemingsburg, KY). The Vikings record now stands at 12-11.
