Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 37-6 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Franklin upgrades its record to 11-3 on the season. The Panthers host Swain County (Bryson City, NC) to play the Maroon Devils in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Maroon Devils go into the bout with a record of 1-2.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) in a bout, on Friday, February 9. Smoky Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 48-23 non-league loss to Pisgah (Canton, NC).
