The Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC), 43-34 in Tuesday's league test.
The Cougars (8-8) will now prepare for their test against White Oak (Jacksonville, NC). The Vikings go into the test with a 9-5 record. In their last test, White Oak notched a victory over West Carteret (Morehead City, NC), 57-33, in a non-league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 8-8 record. They play next when they host Richlands for a non-league test on Friday, February 9. Dixon will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 62-28 non-league loss to Swansboro (Swansboro, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-16.
