Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC), 47-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Holmes upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Aces travel to First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC) to play the Nighthawks in a non-league bout on Friday, February 9. The Nighthawks go into the bout with a record of 10-6. First Flight won 54-48 in their recent non-league bout against Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC)

Next up, the Knights play the Pasquotank County Panthers (Elizabeth City, NC) in a bout, on Friday, February 9. Currituck County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 55-29 non-league win over Manteo (Manteo, NC).
