West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC), 66-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Johnston upgrades its record to 14-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC) to clash with the Golden Falcons in a bout on Friday, February 9. The Golden Falcons go into the bout with a record of 7-10. C.B. Aycock lost 61-59 in their recent league bout against Fike (Wilson, NC)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Fike Demons (Wilson, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Smithfield-Selma will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Demons go into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 61-59 league win over C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC).
