The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM) and the visiting Corona/Vaughn Cardinals (Corona, NM), observed Hondo Valley's basketball team overwhelm Corona/Vaughn by a margin of 71-45.

The Eagles (8-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Reserve (Reserve, NM). The Mountaineers come into the non-league challenge with a 3-14 record. In their last challenge, Reserve was trounced by Magdalena (Magdalena, NM), 75-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals battle the Coronado Leopards (Gallina, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 8. Corona/Vaughn will attempt to better on its 2-16 season record. The Leopards come into the challenge with a 9-10 record after their 44-41 league win over Tse' Yi' Gai (Cuba, NM).
