In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Homer Pelicans basketball team scored a good 47-37 triumph over the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers.

The Pelicans (11-11) will now prepare for their contest against D'Arbonne Woods (Farmerville, LA). The go into the 2A District 1 contest with a 18-10 record.

In their next game, the Tigers confront the Plain Dealing Lions (Plain Dealing, LA) in a 1A District 1 contest, on Friday, February 7. Jonesboro-Hodge will attempt to better on its 10-18 season record. The Lions go into the contest with a 2-18 record after their 58-18 league loss to Arcadia (Arcadia, LA).
